Miscellaneous information for BioMag users
4.1.2010:
About 10 electricity interruptions are coming to occur during the spring because of the construction work. The first pobably on Saturday, 13 February. The interruptions will be informed 3 days before they happen.
Please remember that HPI coils need to be digitized in a set sequence.
Construction work in Meilahti area includes rock explosion at 08, 16 and 19 in a 10-min period from 1 January 2010 onwards. Neuromag recommends that the subject is not seated under the dewar during these periods if the dewar is in seated position. More details about the timetable will be given when we get it. Conny Quaedflieg has seen odd artifacts in some sensors about 15 min after the explosions.
New Matlab version (R2009b) is available. If you need it, you can get the disk from Juha Montonen.
26.11.2009:
Construction work in Meilahti area is supposed to include rock explosions at 08, 12, 16 in a 10-min period from 1.1.2010 onwards. Neuromag recommends that the subject is not seated under the dewar during these periods if the dewar is in seated position. At present, explosions may occur outside the fixed times. A phone call warning about the explosion will be made to the MEG and MKG shielded room phone half an hour before it. More details about the timetable will be given when we get it.
2.11.2009:
Andrey Zhdanov and Erik Larismaa are preparing video-MEG. Some changes in MEG recording space are to be expected.

The color printer near Pirjo's room prints two-sided copies when selection of suitable properties is done. This saves printing costs and your office space.
Announce your publications gone through: very important for lab financing
Remember to record all measurements to the books close to recording spaces!
30.4.2009:
Lab reservation program dysfunctions if some fields are left unfilled. No prevention for the user. Please make complete filling to avoid confusion.
New projector table has been installed. New aluminium supports to prevent slow downward move
Jari has made recordings of tactile pulse latencies and waveforms at different ISI:s. Contact him if you need them.
Meilahti Campus day 28.4. went well. We got special thanks from Ressu. Marvellous possibility to recruit test subjects: Jari has the list of participants.
No worm found in TMS-navigation. Check your data sticks before you insert them to the recording devices, as there is no possibility to install security programs to recording systems.
30.2.2009:
BioMag contributes to "Center of systems neuroimaging" that has been selected as a "National-level research infrastructure" by the Ministry of Education. Use this in your grant applications.
If data storage gets unduly full, researchers need to burn their own DVD:s within one month after the research has been done; thereafter they are removed from Tera.

The cable of the MOD disk reader easily looses from Omega computer. Fixation attempted. Do not kick the instrument unnecessarily.

Version 5.2.4 of the Brain Electrical Signal Analysis software BESA is available in BioMag on the PC called BESA
Presentation: version selection and keyboard settings may affect the function
MOD system is slowly dying out. MOD device update done. Copy important files to other storing media.
If Polhemus leads touch each other, up to 1-cm error in head localization is possible. This happens particularly easily in lying position!
