INVENTION PRIZE 1997
The magnetic stimulator project at the
BioMag Laboratory was acknowledged publically for the second time in 1997 (see
Innovation Prize) as Risto
Ilmoniemi received the First prize
from the Health Care Technology Foundation (Tampere, Finland) for his
invention "Electromagnetic mapping device of the cerebral cortex".
The invention has been engineered into a working prototype by Juha Virtanen, Jarmo Ruohonen, Janne Kamppuri, Vesa-Pekka Lempinen, Erno Muuranto, Marko Ollikainen and Jyri Ylöstalo.
