Please provide bibliographic information in manuscripts
A lot of confusion will be avoided if you would kindly observe the
following practice when writing manuscripts and abstracts:
In each version of the document, please write the date and as complete
information regarding the intended publication forum as possible.
- In a manuscript to be submitted to, say, Nature, write "To be submitted
to Nature". On a different line, write the date of the version.
- In a manuscript that has been submitted, write, e.g., "Submitted to
Nature, January 18, 2001".
-
In copies of a conference abstract that has been submitted, add to the upper
margin using a font that distinguishes the submitted text from this added
text i) The name of the conference, ii) place, iii) date. For example,
"Neuroscience Finland 2001, Saariselkä, Finland, March 15--16, 2001."
The purpose of this practice is that all documents (and we produce hundreds
of them every year) can be identified and referred to properly if needed.
Thus, each document must include complete bibliographic information.
